Works For Your House

Kenyan Nights

Liz Jackson from Kurwongbah contacted Works For Your House not long after her son’s Little Pro workshop wanting to experience painting like Picasso.  The artwork created was her birthday gift for her bedroom.

Liz had never painted before and was very nervous, though she needn’t have worried as the stress was all on Sharron! Sharron showed Liz how to get a smooth finish, to splatter paint in a straight line, to smoothly dry brush translucent layers and how to create hard edge finishes.

At times, Liz would sit and watch while Sharron pondered direction and refined an area, ready for the next stage and Liz would ask questions.

Sharron loves to cook and Liz’s diet required care, and so they feasted on nuts and dried fruits with lunch being Chinese Vegetables with Ho Fun and later an assortment of Crudités with Hommos. Liz has since been handing out lots of Works For Your House cards, thanks Liz!

Decor tips

  • Replace tired, dried or silk flower arrangenments
  • If you have timber picture frames, use the same timber as your furniture
  • Balance ornaments in singles or groups being careful not to create lines
  • Keep ornaments consistent with your theme and make sure they have a purpose that relates to the space

Liz practised with her colour wheel and found she could create a more restful and elegant decor.  Want to learn how too?  Just contact us!
