This room has paintings all inspired by the bed linen. A park theme has been accentuated by 4 small floral canvases which balance the space above the beds, adding variety and pizazz. It doesn't take a lot to make white walls a whole lot of fun!
There is also a Parisian styled triptych which I designed for the client of Brisbane Interior Designer Kate Davis Steer. The works are for the girls room within the clients stylish Kangaroo Point riverside apartment. The designs delighted the owners' 9 and 18 year old girls. This is charming, fun art that won’t date will be loved for years to come, it is art for life.
The canvases were designed as a triptych so as to balance around the slightly Art Deco drawer set, replacing the empty wall space with abundant colour. As the room has an Easterly aspect, the crisp, vibrant colours help to keep the ambience bright and warm for winter, yet fresh as Spring for Summer. Taking the design directly from one of the cushions, and extending it, has helped create a theme for the room...girls, fun, fashion and city living...in Paris!
