NEW!!  Fuchsia Reflections - Christine Ellison from North Lakes wanted 3 year old Keira to paint something pretty and floral for above her couch.  No worries!  Follow the link to discover her story and our decor hints. We use a lot of iridescent and metallic finishes in our artworks for a touch of glamour. You can even have gold or silver leaf! Art works can also be given a Glass Coat finish which enhances and protects your art for the generations to come.

NEW!!  Frogs In Reeds - Leanne Taylor wanted art for her stairwell.  The stairwell isn't well lit and being a charming suburban townhouse, it isn't the Gone With The Wind size either, so how to glam it up and create some theme? At your appointment your artist, a trained interior decorator, can advise you on direction. Theme is usually what we focus on to build story and style in your home. Colours from your existing decor are typically repeated and played with. Elements such as lighting can be discussed, so you will know what to buy.

 

Little Gold Hands -  Abstract Little Pros are gorgeous in a modern decor. Have you ever been to an art gallery and seen works that appear to have been painted by a child?  At WFYH your child will produce gallery worthy art. There is however, a major difference.  These children’s masterpieces have pretty powerful emotions attached to them.  They're by your child! Kindergarten art isn’t light safe, where a Little Pro will last 70 years plus. Your Little Pro is on a custom made canvas, not paper which yellows over time. Your Little Pro is guaranteed to match your decor and be loved by you!

Mitch's Boyhood Friends - Children's artworks don't have to be abstract!  This series of 3 paintings created in a day with 7 year old Mitch McDonald for his birthday shows what can be done with carefully pre-prepared canvases.  This was the families 2nd Little Pro session. Learn more about interior decorating at every appointment.  We'll check your understanding of the colour wheel we give you each appointment to. Your child will use expensive Atelier “Interactive” Acrylics. Unlike traditional acrylics, they don’t suddenly form a skin, giving us plenty of time to play and more creative freedom. Best of all they’re archival quality and lightfast.  The intense colours dry to a satin-like finish.

Tigers in the Grass - Your child can be art directed to create a more figurative styled painting. This parent also commissioned our Mermaid art. Just like the African painting here, we can take a theme from any room. You can have patterns from curtains, bedspread or sculptural piece and bring it to life.   Art will unite your decor colours making a more stylish decor. Allow a full day plus design time for these sessions.  The kids - they sleep it off!

Daisies Fairy Garden- The third commission from this family, this delightful artwork has been the favorite of many other families looking through our albums.  Testament to the spirit of Little Pro you can see the quality of colour in this. Specialty paints like metallic, irridescence and collage is available. Photos and colour samples are taken on the appointment day to ensure colours match your decor. We measure an appropriate canvas size and have it custom built to last a lifetime. We sketch ideas for you too– its that easy!

Jungle Jamboree - At your appointment thumbnail sketches will be drafted for you on the spot and refined drafts if nescessary will be emailed to you later. This is the first of two artworks for this family. These black and white sketches come with notes about colour or texture etc, and will give you choice of various compositions. At your appointment we will give you interior decorating tips as to how to make your room more stylish. For more comprehensive plans, Works For Your House or any of our affiliate interior designers and decorators can be hired to provide a room plan to work from.  This will give you colour samples to follow, allow you to use existing furniture and accessories or purchase new, with or without assistance even from your favourite home wares catalogue!

Daddas Surprise - As in this picture, parents often worry about the size of the canvas sizes suggested for their very young child to paint. Fear not! There are ways to engage their interest; they can use their toy truck, drag ropes, use iridescence or throw paint at the canvas…whatever does the trick. Children as young as 18 months typically paint for 2 hours; they will wander off at times, but invariably don’t want to stop! Good news mum, even children who’ve stopped afternoon sleeps, tend to need one after painting a masterpiece!

God Daughters Gift - Interior Designers and decorators are most welcome to suggest to their clients, that their children create artworks to match their new decors.  Works For Your House works with interior designers.  We already have close relationships with several Brisbane Interior Designers and Decorators. If you are an Interior Designer, the sessions are held at your client’s home so the child is relaxed.  Your client can then enjoy the experience.

Connor's Escapade - Many children we work with have had no experience painting - so they are taught on the job. Some children, like Connor here, will be shown how to hold the brush. You may think my child could never do a real painting…but so did all the other parents!  This parent also did a Picasso session with us. If you have a budget, but a big wall to fill, try imagining a triptych. A triptych is a piece of art painted over 3 canvases. A design can be broken up sequentially and when hung, you will achieve harmony and tell a story while filling lots of space!

Edelweiss - Children of all ages can enjoy this experience! Just like Emily pictured here with her painting of  "Edelweiss", the one of two Little Pros for this family. Older children receive more time getting hints and tips on how to paint, perhaps even learning how to paint challenging vignettes, not easy to do in a day! The art will suit the space and the child will be stimulated, their passion increasing the more they practise.
