We get a lot of joy here at Works For Your House. This was a particularly heart warming experience - for us! Des's wife Hazel has Alzheimers and is very dependant on Des for support, which is so time consuming for him, but this ever so loving couple refuse to be separated and so on they go on life's journey.
His daughters decided Des needed a hobby for himself that he could do whilst hazel looked on or watched TV, or even at the beach or in a park...and you can do that with art.
Sharron spent 2 days with Des painting a Rembrandt while he watched and listened, reminiscing over days when he used to draw and asking questions as to how to conveniently equip himself to start dabbling again.
Conversation about business and art abounded, both Sharron's favourite topics and Des with years of experience in business modestly gave a few well healed pointers to Sharron who gratefully listened.

- A A4 pad of pastel paper - drawing
- 4 charcoal sticks
- A set of 24 pastels
- 3 sizes of Bristle brushes for blending pigments
- A packet of baby wipes for keeping hands clean
- Pack it in a fishing box for keeping in the car
Painting kit for the elderly
- A pad of A4 Archers watercolour paper
- A set of 24 Aquarelles pencils - add water from a small bottle to make watercolour!
- Small watercolour set - Windsor & Newton have lovely travel ones
Oil painting kit for the elderly
- A4 pad of Canvas sheets
- Small set of oil paints,
- Bottle of turps, 6 sizes of sable brushes, square and pointed shapes ...No water required and the paint stays moist so it can be worked on over time.
- A bottle of medium to help with drying the paint when travelling.
- A few rags for wiping brushes
